Green functions of mass diffusion waves in porous media

چکیده
A formulism of frequency-domainmass diffusion-waves in porousmedia is derived bymeans of Fourier transform. In analogy to conventional thermal-wave fields, internally consistent Green functions inCartesian coordinates for linearmass diffusion-waves is also presented for infinite, semiinfinite andfinite-size domains in three-dimensional spaces. TheGreen functions are utilized to analyze the response of a particular type ofmass diffusion physical system to any arbitrary tracer source distributions. Thismethod allows the introduction of frequency-dependent physically intrinsic properties of porousmedia. TheGreen functions presented in this lettermay significantly advance understanding in linearmass diffusion-wave physics in porousmedia, and can be applied to retrieve spatial-temporal diffusive-wave fields from ambientmassfluctuations in geological reservoirs.
